You’re invited to Ryder Cup 2016 Ice Cream Cart Volunteer Registration!
MUST BE ABLE TO WALK THE WHOLE GOLF COURSE!
A portion of the proceeds from the ice cream sold will benefit Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.
Location: Hazeltine National Golf Course, 1900 Hazeltine Blvd, Chaska, MN 55318
Dates / Time: Tuesday Sept 27 – Sunday Oct 2, 8:30 am – 6:00 pm
Who can volunteer: Any person 16 or older, who is able to WALK to the ice cream cart locations on the golf course.
Check-In: Report to the volunteer concession check in tent (location on golf course unknown at this time) prior to 8:30 am. Ice cream cart coordinator will gather the ice cream volunteers to assign course locations. You will WALK to your assigned location. Note, WALK. This may be across the golf course.
Dress Code: Tan or khaki pants, shorts or skirts and a white (as plain as possible) polo, golf shirt, button down shirt, collar preferred. Volunteers will be given caddy bibs to protect their white shirt. CLOSED TOE SHOES ONLY, this is a health regulation. No sandals or flip flops. Sneakers/tennis/hiking/walking shoes, even golf shoes are fine. Be prepared for the weather, bring a jacket, sweat shirt for the cooler mornings and sun screen.
There must be at least 2 people per cart at all times, age 16 or older. If we have enough volunteers there will be 3 or 4 people per cart, volunteers then can take turns working cart and watching golf. It is our goal to keep friends together at a cart, unfortunately we cannot guarantee. Volunteers with be given a lunch coupon for a sandwich, soft drink and a snack (apple, chips, or cookie). Drinking water will be provided throughout the day. Ice cream carts close by 6 pm or sooner, depending on play. Come ready to stay until 6 pm. All carts have 2 umbrellas and one chair
Cell phones are allowed on the course but it must be on silent/vibrate, Ryder Cup rules. If the phone rings you will be escorted off the course by Ryder Cup officials. All purses/bags will be checked upon entering the course. Please leave valuables at home.

The mission of The Children’s Association-Minneapolis is fundraising and service to meet the special needs of children cared for by Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.
For more than 50 years, women with a passion for helping patients and families served by Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, have volunteered countless hours to raise funds and provide a service through The Children’s Association-Minneapolis. In 2014, The Association raised $397,875 which bring the total amount raised since its inception in 1958, to over $11.9 million.
Programs and projects at Children’s that have benefited from these funds include:
Great Clips Family Resource Center, Star Studio, Family Needs Fund, Child Life Services, Pain & Palliative Care, and Pediatrics Clinic. The 200 plus members of The Association are organized into Chapters who each share the same mission yet are unique in their approach. Association fundraising events offer opportunities for members to participate in various activities including golf events, plant and wreath sales, fashion shows, luncheons, dinners, silent and live auctions, Bridge and Bunco. Association members also give gifts of time and talents through various service projects such as volunteering in the Storybook Gift Shop, serving meals at the Ronald McDonald House, and creating a variety of items for patients (Sleepers, caps, booties, blankets, Wee Welcome Kits, etc.). In addition to the gratification of making a difference in the lives of the patients and their families at Children’s, membership benefits include community involvement, opportunities to serve in leadership positions and the chance to build strong friendships.
